A creative has to create
Every photographer - heck every creative - needs a bucket list. It pushes us. Focuses us.
I've never been just a photographer. I've always had a starving artist's spirit. Yes I do everyday portrait work and that is what my business is based around; however inside me, there is always a project brewing around who I am in my journey. To create without a dollar amount attached lifts expectations and watch an artist flourish. Trying out new ideas not only helps us better our craft but also allows us to build our confidence because our ability to create is one of the things the define us. When we get trapped on the hamster wheel of dollar signs, followers and will this job pay, our mental health starts to suffer.
I've created a bucket list to help me give direction this year and do some of those projects that has been brewing in my soul for years. Take a moment to see if any of these sound interesting to you and you would like more info. If it isn't a project, I'm only accepting one person/family, so I can really dive deep within the session.
All sessions have individual requirements that must be met. All participants must sign a model release allowing me to use images on social media as well as agree to share the images online and tag @amandamcnealphotography
tattoo sessions (a project)
Tattoos come with stories. Your body becomes the pages upon which you tell it. I would love to create a series of raw studio images that focus not just on the art but on the story as well. Sessions will be in the studio with a simple canvas backdrop and more dramatic lighting.
Open to all 18+. Basic jeans and white or black tank required.
lake sessions
I've always wanted to create dramatic images in a lake where yes the client gets wet. These sessions will embrace all aspects of water interracting with the human body. These will have a more fine art feel - not lifestyle.
Open to maternity, couples, seniors and women. Wardrobe is flowy dresses similar to silk and flowing fabrics. You will get wet head to toe.
stripped (a project)
Not boudoir by any means. In only basic undies, these black and white sessions will use dramatic lighting in a studio setting to focus on the canvas of your body - your curves, your scars, your tiger stripes, your wrinkles - YOUR STORY. You do not have to show your face in these sessions and they will not take on any sexual nature like boudoir.
Open to individuals 21+. Must wear white cotton undergarments of your choice.
Retro rollerskates
Exactly what it says. These will take place in a parking garage in Franklin or Nashville. You would have to supply the roller-skates.
Open to all. Must provide rollerskates and dress in 70's style.
vintage beach picnic
A vintage picnic complete with vintage dining wear, beautiful florals, lace and crochet blankets....you get the point.
Open to families, seniors or friend groups of all ages. Must wear flowing beach wear and linen in shades of white, neutral and pastels.
urban queen
Let's talk empowerment. This is for the ladies 45+ that have hit that "I have no fks left to give." This session will be pure edge and glam in downtown Nashville. From wardrobe to hair and makeup you will become that inner badass that you are becoming or have arrived at. You may wear sweatpants and tees by day but in this session you will harness your inner Pat Benetar.

concert
For someone who loves music and photography, I've oddly never photographed a concert. This is probably one I have to pursue on my own but if you have a suggestion of someone I can photograph let's chat. Prefer to be within a 3 hour drive.
