It's no secret that getting to know just a little bit about a person makes you more comfortable around them. It gives you something to talk about and maybe even bond over a common interest. Being a photographer I need my clients to be comfortable in front of me. Meeting someone then immediately photographing them can be overwhelming and cause some anxiety which doesn't work well. However I'm really not good at talking about myself unless you ask me about my solo travels and I will take over the conversation. So I thought "Hey why don't you do a Q&A with yourself." I can do that. So here ya go.

20 ?'s In 20 minutes

(Don't worry it won't take you 20 min but took me 20 to answer.)

1. What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?

Writing, spending time outside gardening and watching some Netflix

2. What type of music are you into?

I love music. It fills my soul. My favorite genre would have to be 70's rock and the genre of Dave Matthews band but you will hear me listening to Amos Lee, Yacht Rock, classical, Brandi Carlisle, Counting Crows and the list goes on. Im

a huge DMB fan.

3. What was the best vacation you ever took and why?

For a family vacation I'm going with our recent trip to the Outer Banks. We went with a few other families so it was nice to have time with our kids but also time to relax with friends - especially after being quarantined due to COVID.

As for solo I would have to say my trip to Costa Rica two years ago. It was such a learning experience and I came back a changed woman. It's one of those experiences that if you ask me about it I won't stop talking about it.

4. Where’s the next place on your travel bucket list and why?

Amsterdam maybe? I find the culture and landscape there absolutely beautiful. I haven't really thought about it in depth though. Right now I'm more thinking of heading back to Costa Rica or Moab, UT. Moab has my heart and Costa Rica has my soul.

5 .What are your hobbies, and how did you get into them?

Writing. It began when I was young as it was a way to escape reality and I was an avid journal keeper. I am currently writing a memoir about the years I spent deep in depression as well as have a blog where I ramble thoughts out to the world.

Gardening. The act of it is relaxing to me. I could be stressed out and it relaxes me. I started gardening five years ago when I developed generalized anxiety disorder.

Macro photography. I count it as a hobby as it's just fun and I don't hold myself to high standards like I do with my professional work.

Reading. I am usually reading a few books at a time. I didn't get into reading until a few years ago when I started reading crime novels.

6. What is your favorite color?

Blue. It can be soothing or bold. I find myself using it in our house for decorating but oddly I own very few blue clothes.

7. Was the last thing you read?

Never Tell by Lisa Gardner - I'm a suspense and crime junkie. I also enjoy spiritual reading and self development books.

8. Would you say you’re more of an extrovert or an introvert?

I'm an extroverted introvert. I love being social and spending time out and about. If in the right mood I can keep the conversation going at social gatherings. However I need alone time and that is how I fill my bucket back up. If I go go go and am constantly around people then I get anxiety and feel drained.

9. What's your favorite ice cream topping?

Hot fudge

10. What was the last TV show you binge-watched?

Working Moms. HILARIOUS!!! I recommend it to any mom - staying at home or working.

11. Are you into podcasts or do you only listen to music?

I mainly listen to music (remember I love it) although I've been listening to more podcasts about business and photography.

12. Do you have a favorite holiday? Why or why not?

Christmas. My parents always did their best to make it special and I guess I just have great memories of that time in my life so I've always loved everything about it. The lights, sparkle, everyone's high spirits, the wonder, the joy you feel and it seems everyone just enjoys each other so much more. I go all out for decorating at our house and love every minute of it

13. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Sushi

14. Do you like going to the movies or prefer watching at home?

Half & half

15. What’s your favorite sleeping position?

On my side usually left

16. What’s your go-to guilty pleasure?

Binge watching Netflix. I don't let myself do it too often. I find myself thinking "I want to get sick so I can have an excuse to binge watch a new series."

17. In the summer, would you rather go to the beach or go camping?

Beach. I am really not a fan of camping at all. I love the outdoors but I love indoors for sleeping even more.

18. What’s your favorite quote from a TV show/movie/book?

“Never let the bastards get you down!” – Moira Rose, Schitt's Creek

19. How old were you when you had your first celebrity crush, and who was it?

I was in second grade and it was Jordan from New Kids on the Block.

20. What's one thing that can instantly make your day better?

Someone showing me affection or giving me a compliment.
